On May 26, 2024, a destructive EF2 tornado tore through Northwest Arkansas—and the trails we love.
Hundreds of trees were down. Bridges were damaged or washed out. Severe water damage left parts of our trail network closed for months.
We didn’t have a shared inventory of our bridges, culverts and trail features, or a clear system for documenting damage, prioritizing repairs and coordinating the people ready to help.
“We were scrambling to clear, repair and reopen—while trying to piece together the full picture.”
That experience planted the seed for Chundr.
